The calendar date picker does not allow you to pick a Federal holiday, however, you can manually enter in the date if you still wish to add a calendar event on that specific date. You can manually enter the date inside the Begin box.
This functionality was created to prevent users from inadvertently choosing a holiday for an event date, if they did not realize the date they were choosing was a holiday.
