This article will address some commonly asked questions about MerusCase's integration with Outlook calendar. Read on for more information.
How do I set up my MerusCase calendar in Outlook?
See our setup article for more detailed instructions.
How do I edit the MerusCase events I see in my Outlook calendar?
It is recommended that you make any changes or edits to events directly in MerusCase. Once you have saved your event updates in your MerusCase firm calendar, the events will automatically update in Outlook.
Because the MerusCase Outlook calendar integration is currently a one-way synchronization process, it is not recommended to edit MerusCase events in Outlook at this time. Any event data field that are edited in Outlook may no longer be updated with new information from MerusCase, although the other event details will continue to automatically update.
Can I synchronize more than one MerusCase calendar to my Outlook calendar?
Because the Outlook calendar integration establishes a connection directly between your MerusCase user account and your Outlook account, you can only synchronize one MerusCase user's calendar to your Outlook calendar. If you would like to see additional MerusCase events in Outlook, make sure your MerusCase user is listed as an assignee on the events and that the event types are set to be synchronized in your Outlook calendar integration preferences.
I'm getting a message from Microsoft that says I need admin permissions when I try to setup my account. What should I do?
Please follow the instructions noted by Microsoft and have someone with administrator privileges in your Microsoft organization login to their Microsoft account and grant permissions. When doing so, may sure that they check off the box to grant access to users in your MerusCase firm. You may need to try the setup process again after admin permissions are granted.
My MerusCase calendar is appearing as a separate tab in Outlook. How do I view it with my other events in one calendar view?
You may need to set the MerusCase calendar to be viewed in Overlay Mode in Outlook. On the MerusCase calendar tab, click on the "View in Overlay Mode" button. This should display your MerusCase events alongside your other Outlook calendar events in one tab.
My firm uses a custom Exchange server. Can I use the Outlook calendar integration?
The MerusCase integration with Outlook is designed to work with Office 365 and may not work as described with custom Exchange Servers.
