Using the ADJ Import Tool
The new ADJ Import Tool in MerusCase allows you to quickly and conveniently retrieve information from EAMS to directly update your case files. The following data can be added from EAMS:
- Date of Injury
- Injury body parts
- Venue
- Parties
This tool can be accessed from either the Parties tab or Injuries Tab within Workers’ Compensation case files. Just click the “ADJ Import Tool” button on either tab to navigate to the import feature.
On the ADJ Import Tool page, type the ADJ number into the provided field. Click “Import” to start the data retrieval process.
Note: You can also search for multiple ADJ numbers at the same time by separating each number with a comma in the ADJ Case Number field.
It may take a few moments to obtain all the information from EAMS, so feel free to leave this page and continue working in MerusCase. If you see the current status listed as “Importing…” you can click the “Refresh” button to see updates to the status.
Once the data for the ADJ number(s) has been retrieved it will appear for your review. The import status will display as “Completed - unsaved”. At this point, you can select the specific information you’d like to update in your case file for each ADJ number.
By default, all the EAMS data will be selected, but you can deselect any of the information you do not wish to import into the case.
- Case Information
- Injury Details
- Parties
If you do not want to include any of the imported information for a specific ADJ number, click the “Delete” button to exclude it from updating your case file.
Working with Multiple ADJ Numbers
If you have imported multiple ADJ numbers, each one will be listed separately for your review. After selecting the information you wish to import for each ADJ number, you can collapse the corresponding cards to save screen space and focus on the remaining unreviewed information.
Once you’ve reviewed and selected the desired EAMS data for all ADJ numbers, click the “Save” button to update the injury and party information on the case. All the parties will automatically be associated with the appropriate injury.
Refreshing Case Data from EAMS
The ADJ Import Tool can also be used to update existing injuries and parties during the lifetime of a case file. If you enter an ADJ number that has already been used on a case file, the tool will check EAMS for updated information and allow you to override previously-imported data at any time.
Import History
The ADJ Import tool provides a history of the most recent import to help you track and verify changes made to case. The history includes the following:
- The ADJ number(s) most recently imported
- The date and time the data was imported from EAMS
- The user that initiated the import process
- The status of the import
