The Attach to Merus add-in allows you to link emails directly to your case files in MerusCase. It is compatible with Outlook 2013 or later, Outlook 2016 for Mac, and Outlook on the Web.
Note
In order to use this add-in, you will need to make sure that email sync is set up, as well as that the email you're currently trying to link has been synced to your MerusCase (which can take up to 10 minutes).

- Sign in (If not already signed in)
- Select Settings in the top right.
- At the bottom of the Settings list, select View all Outlook settings
3. Select Mail > Customize actions.
4. Under the Message surface section you should see a box for Attach to Merus. Check this box and Save.
(Note- If you do not see this option, then you will need to Enable "Get Add-Ins" and use that button to download/install the Add-In)
5. Now when you select an Inbox Message, you should see your Attach to Merus icon
If You’re Using Outlook 2013 or later, Outlook 2016 for Mac
When viewing a message which has already been received or sent (i.e. not when composing a message), click on Show Taskpane near the top right of your screen.
Note
Is Show Taskpane greyed out? Make sure you are viewing a message that is in the Inbox or Sent folder (or other specified folder in your MerusCase Email Setup Synchronization Options) for the email address that you have synched to your MerusCase account.
Logging In
Log in to your Merus account in the MerusCase taskpane on the right just as you would in your web browser. Enter your Email and Password, then click Login. You will then see new options appear, including a greeting, a Sign Out button, and a refresh button, as well as some blank fields.
Linking an Email
-
Start typing in the desired case name into the Search Cases field. Just as you would expect from the search bar in Browse Cases within MerusCase, this will automatically bring up suggestions as you type. Select the desired case name.
-
Optionally, choose an Activity Tag. Just like with linking an email through Messages in MerusCase, the email will automatically have the “Message” tag, but you can add another here.
-
Click Link to Case to attach the email to that case and have it show up in the Activity tab.
